I haven't done a blog post in over a week and I definitely feel a sense of shame that I haven't been keeping up the rate of posts that I achieved in September. However, it has been a very busy and stressful week for me. I had a couple of interviews which meant that I spent much of the week in a state of self-analysis and being under the spotlight. As someone who suffers from anxiety trying to sell myself, or believe in myself for an interview isn't the easiest thing in the world. I have been feeling very down lately about where I am in life. I am at that point where a lot of my friends have definite 'careers' going, they have paths set out for them or jobs they are very firmly involved in. They even seem a little bit magical, these people doing impressive things, espicially PhDs. I have lots of ambitions and not so much going on. My career path is by no means laid out, but I do have hope. And each interview and success is one step forward to being magical myself.
I read advice from all sorts of wonderful famous people who talk about how you shoud spend your time doing things you love and being creative with the people you love, but sometimes when you are down you just want to play Civ IV all night, rather than making and sharing. So I've been doing a lot of that too! And I rock at Civ so it really does help with confidence. :)
However, the weekend arrived and Andy and I went to a bbq (in October! I know! But it was actually sunny) and had a chance to take some outfit photos again.
The scarf is yet another of my set of four I got for my birthday. It's very different from anything I own, being somewhere between a necklace and a scarf and a lot more shiny than my usual, but I like it all the same. Just like wearing bangles all the time I can shake it around and jingle when I walk. Which is very important.
I look pretty washed out here, but it was either this or have a series of photos where I look really angry because the sun is blinding me! |

I have awful anxiety too. Interviews can be so tough. I hope yours went well though!! I love this look. Your scarf, dress, tights, shoes, jewelry - perfect!!
ReplyDeleteWhat an interesting scarf! Great outfit! Good luck with the interviews, it's definitely a nerve wracking experience. And don't say yes unless it's a good fit! I definitely learned that lesson the hard way!
ReplyDeleteOh dear, I feel that way sometimes but be strong and I do hope everything works out for you in the end. I get awfully nervous when I get interviews and I have to 'talk' about myself! I love the outfit, and the scarf is something special.. never seen one like it, love it.
ReplyDeleteTake care dear,

The detail on the scarf is so fun! Also, don't worry about not posting so frequently. Sometimes you just need a bloggy break, especially with such a busy week going on.
ReplyDeletescarves are so great though!!! i love getting new ones, though i rarely do. i love your bag and shoes in this - i really love brown accessories - so versatile

ReplyDeleteInterviews are the worst. But once you get the job you dream of, they're all be but a distant memory :)
