In which I take down robbers

-->
I tried so hard to do my post on Tuesday but time ticked by and I got sucked into making more treasuries on Etsy and then it was bedtime.
I am so happy about some of the compliments I have had on them lately. It makes me feel like this is something I am good at. My latest ones have all been on fairy tales. This one on Red Riding Hood and this one on Cinderella

John is back from his trip to the Himalayas and seems pretty smug about something though I'm not sure what. He got me a book of batman comics for my birthday and for inspiration. It's 'Whatever Happened to the Caped Crusader' by Neil Gaiman (the author I'm obsessed with) The comic is written at Batman's funeral with an interesting mix of characters with totally different angles on how Batman's life actually went.
So this morning a couple of guys came round to the flat ostensibly here to fix our lights. Now in truth there had been problems with several lights in the house –about a month ago. The problem was long fixed. It seemed a little suspicious but I let them in, after all they could just have got mixed messages from the letting company. I took them upstairs to look at the lights and then they tried to go into a friends room and told me that they didn't want to keep me and they would get on with the job. Hah. Fat chance. I stood in the doorway waiting for them to get their tools out. They seemed to make up their mind and came towards me, the older guy grabbed hold of my wrists. Seriously?
I didn't even use my powers.
I just kicked him in the balls.
Then I kicked the other guy in the face and then in the balls.
Do they think we're stupid or something?
Just another event in the life of Origami Girl.
Oh and I bought myself a present today:

In which I ponder

I am obliged to begin my post with Follow my blog with bloglovin if I wish to gain any more interest in my writings it appears. It seems a little dictorial, I'd rather it was just an option on the side but hey. I am a little disappointed that I have been writing here for months and have had so little interest I confess. I am just wondering if my exploits are just not daring enough.
However I enjoy writing this and keeping myself busy with it and it reminds me to keep exploring new ways of making origami defeat the world.
It was my birthday yesterday and I had a most fantastic day. I ate japanese food, hung out with some friends (even superheroes have some friends) and received a most beautiful mock-vintage record player. However woke up this morning with a letter from the tax man saying he will well be taxing me. Never fun at all. I'm pretty stressed about money at the moment I confess.
Apparantly stopping crime doesn't pay. :)
I will write a little bit more about my recent adventures shortly. For now I will leave you with a picture of a cake, because it makes me happy.

In which I talk about zombies

-->
Blogging again and this time on the day I want to blog! Yes I orginially planned to blog every Tuesday but that seems to have been interrupted by own business.
So here I am.
It has been an interesting week. John has gone away on some 'secret plan' stuff in the mountains which means I won't see him again for a little while for which I am a little sad faced. However life goes on.
I bought some new playmobil this week. You may not have guessed yet but I am rather obsessed with children's toys because I really can't grow up. I just got this set:
Zombie pirates! How awesome.
Well it is awesome until you actually fight them. I can use my figures to work on strategy. Once I had to face down a zombie family who were posing as drama students. These were intelligent undead rather than crawling along 'Braaains' type. They were luring people along to 'improvsed theatre' events and then eating them. I pretended to be a lecturer to get in and then crafted a whole audience out of paper. They ate them till they were stuffed and then went home where I killed them quietly and efficiently. Sorry for the gruesomeness today. I just can't play with my little pirate figures without remembering it.

It is my birthday this week actually! I'm very excited and wondering if I'll get anymore playmobil.
On the jewellery front I have been putting up more k'nex earrings which are here if you want to see:
I love that you can take pieces off one pair and put them on another!
I have been looking at masks a lot as I have been invited to a masked party for a few weeks time. I really like the idea of a felt mask, so much more confortable: This is by Autumn2May if you are interested in buying one. I have my own superhero mask actually.
Didn't think I was going to show you my full face did you?

In which I share some pictures and use a snake

Blog post.

Ok, this time I am going to endeavour to write a little less but give you more pictures.

I came up with a new piece of tactical origami jewellery today.

I was chasing a criminal in a very public place today and I really didn't want to reveal my powers. Usually they do some crazy raving about being attacked by birds and the police think they have gone mad and I am safe. Today I was on a crowded beach and had to do something subtle-ish. She was faster than me and getting away so I made a little snake and sent it underneath the sand towards her till it surfaced at her feet and wrapped itself around her legs bringing her to the ground. I could catch up and sort her out from there. It got me thinking though that I need something to simply help me go faster so I built this little ostrich brooch. Not subtle at all! But people DO a least ride ostriches and it should be lots of fun.

I have also become even more obsessed with Etsy, reading pages of advice to sellers. There is so much to do! Networking, joining a team, photography, making things, listing and relisting. I would spend all day on it if it didn't get tiring being on a computer all day and having to check in on police reports regularly.

Also I have been spending a lot of time drooling over other people's stuff on Etsy. A friend of mine got engaged and I have been using that as an excuse to check out some beautiful things. If me and John ever get married I want these at my wedding!

Enchantingsoapfavors also does a variety of carved soap flowers that are all really impressive but the pumpkin stands out to me as the best. Although this is also amongst the top:

I can't imagine anyone using these to wash! Too pretty to destroy.

Oh and inspired by the beach event I created my very first treasury themed on pirate princesses. I'm pretty happy about it and everyone commenting got into the pirate mood.Pirate Princess Treasury I'll leave with a sample from it:

In which me and John fight with tigers

--> -->
This is the story of how me and John first met. I apologise for its stilted manner but I am writing it as I remember it.
Back when I lived in Japan I was out in a wide expanse of forest training with my powers. I wanted to try and push how far things could go, which is hard to do in a city where you want to be inconspicuous.
I was just practising with creating animals in particular, seeing how well I could control them once I had made something particularly wild. John was on vacation in the city not far off when he sensed a huge amount of power being released. Instantly suspicious he headed off in my direction because he doesn't trust anything powerful he doesn't already know about.
I had made a giant tiger out of industrial rolls of paper! Seriously, it was pretty awesome. Not quite Godzilla levels I admit, about half a tree high. John remembers it as being the size of a barn but he does like to exaggerate.
With something this huge John assumed it was someone with evil intent as soon as he saw the tiger, not often a giant tiger is there with noble intent exactly.
Hey swung in with his ice sword and my paper one met in the middle, preventing the blow swiping off the tiger's head.
We fenced for a few minutes with our crafted blades and then I threw a huge crane at him with a gesture. He met back with a wave of ice pushing it out of the way towards me. I blocked it with a wall (the simplest thing to make: one sheet of paper).
The tiger was mauling at him with claws the size of branches in moments. John built an igloo 'What! A giant tiger!'
He burst out with an ice spear towards the tiger, and tried to engulf me in ice. It took me a moment to break out of it, I hadn't built walls on all four sides yet.
He rolled under and cut its belly with another sharp jet of ice. The tiger wasn't dead yet but pretty thoroughly wounded.
I sent a couple of snakes through the grass towards him; whilst he had been fighting my tiger I had been speed crafting. A couple of giant darts firing towards him as well, trust me, he was pretty bewildered.
With constrictors wrapped around his legs and trying to shield himself from my attacks he shouted,
"Who are you?"
"I'm Origami Girl" I replied, but then added aggressively, "Why did you attack me?"
I was pretty confused by the whole thing, but admittedly having a little fun. This was someone real to fight with actual powers.
"I must stop you taking over the world!" he shouted back.
I looked at him confused, "What? I was just training. I'm not taking over anywhere apart from this small section of the forest."
The tiger had gathered the last of its strength and was crouching for a final attack. Just as it leaped into the air John shouted,
"Oh crap. You're one of the good guys"
I waved my hand and the tiger crumpled into paper.
After that of course we started talking. We certainly did not start going out straight away, but it did begin a slightly aggressive friendship.
Sorry to those of you who came for the jewellery/fashion stuff. I got lost in reminiscing and couldn't shorten the battle anymore. Next time I'll do some more along that lines and show you my latest makes. I've been practising a little photography so I hope soon I can have something a little more impressive to show you. In the mean time here is a painting I did of our battle.
