In which it is third time lucky

I had a lovely weekend where I foolishly dressed like it was Autumn. In fact it was incredibly warm when we took these photos and I was near melting. We actually had ice creams in the park shortly before we took them.

I love this outfit to bits but this was the third time I tried to take outfit pictures in it in 2 weeks! The first time we were out and then got some bad news and I was in too much of an upset mood to smile for a camera or indulge in vanity, the second time it chucked down with rain. We tried indoors but I so disappointed with them that we deleted them all. Then, even this time, we nearly gave up because it was too hot for it. But you know we have to suffer for our art right? :P However, comfy jumper, felt hat and stompy boots is the perfect combination to enjoy an Autumn walk in my opinion. I wear these boots and this hat ever Autumn and they are both many years old. The hat is faded and battered and about 7 years old, but it's still the best hat purchase ever. Maybe next year I'll replace it. What are your favourite Autumnal wardrobe pieces?

It was my birthday party at the weekend. It was my birthday 2 weeks ago in fact and I left this event completely unremarked upon in this blog. I am now at my 1/4 of a century and thus 25. I had a cocktail party where we made mojitos and daquris and other delights and played ugg-tect. A fantastic party game where you have to instruct your team to build a structure, but only communicating in cave man language. There are inflatable clubs. There's a little more to it than that and I really recommend it. I do play a lot of weird board games, but this one is incredibly easy to pick up and play. Would anyone be interested in a post on the board games I have at some point? I could show off some of the crazy boards and pieces they come with.

In which I am always in love with Autumn

It has been far too long since I've had a chance to take outfit photos. The weather has been rainy and sad here, but at the weekend we finally had some sun. I love this outfit. I don't actually think the photos show it as well as I felt in it. I love the floaty skirt with the woolly jumper, the mix of textures, my comfy boots and my favourite hat. I think the problem is I am not that great at modelling! I need to take more care to do interesting poses! Autumn is my favourite time of year for my wardrobe. I love the hats, colourful rights, mustard yellows and dark reds. I've been really enjoying admiring, and pinning all the amazing outfits other bloggers are sharing at the moment. I also love Halloween and Guy Fawkes night and squash soup and pumpkin curry and drinking red wine. All things I would like lots of in my life in the next month!

In the rest of my life I've been saving Hyrule in Legend of Zelda, buying a new toy chest, and attending life drawing classes. More on those things to come.

Thank you so much for the lovely comments on my post last week on the wedding. It has been so much fun going through them all again, and we just finished our adjustments to the album. I don't think I ever grow bored of looking at them. Although, I really miss Yorkshire and my parents at the moment. I wish I could take some time off again and leave the city for the hills. I've lived around London for a couple of years now, and no matter how nice our flat is, it somehow isn't as home as Wales or Yorkshire ever were.

I am totally living in this jumper at the moment. It's in one of my favourite colours and is so comfy. Expect to see a lot more of it during Autumn. In fact I am considering going back and buying another one in green.

In which there are even more wedding pictures

So the post about the wedding were dwindling away, and real life has very much returned to my world. However, there are still left over bit and pieces that we have to do. Get new passports, change our names on everything, and of course make the photo album. Our photographers were utterly amazing and sent us 1300 photos! It's more than we ever imagined there would be, but  they are amazing. We wrestled it down to 200 for the album after going through them over and over. I thought today would be nice to share a tiny snippet more of the top selection. Last time we only had the sneak preview, so I am going to share a few more of the moments that you didn't see. Especially the cake. Because if you do read this blog a lot you might remember the posts about the cake-making and testing or how to make an origami bouquet. You might remember my wedding planning montage so now you can see all those final bits of making, happening in the real world

Wedding rings, in the box Andy used to propose to me with.

So that's what the boy were doing in the morning.
I wrote a little love letter to Andy to be read on the morning of, and delivered to him in this little tin.

Shoes! With hearts on them!
Me, reading from Now We Are Six at our first ceremony.

Jumping right to the second ceremony.

Parents.

Apparently I really like pictures of shoes
I love this picture! I love it so much it's going to be the cover for the wedding album.
Pimms. Mmm.
We had some giant games.

And a giant parachute.

There was in fact a bit of a games theme.
Kingdom Hearts themed centrepieces, which took forever to make. I do love Kingdom Hearts.
The guestbook. Also a lot of work. I layered origami paper over each other on the page behind, then cut out our names and the date with a craft knife. Then glued together.
It's the cakes! Exactly what you've been waiting for I am sure. Aren't they just the best? My mum made these!

There was dancing
and briefly sushi. People ate that so fast I barely managed any myself.
And more dancing!

So there we have it. As I said, that's down from 1300 so I'm not showing it all and perhaps my choices were a little odd. However, I hope you are interested/amused/entertained/confused by the things you have seen.
